Construction Inspector - Intern

We are looking for Construction Inspector Interns to join our growing team... We are constantly winning new contracts and are looking for new inspectors to staff these projects.
We have immediate openings in the Baltimore, MD area. The Construction Inspector Intern will work with Construction Inspectors and Construction Managers to perform daily construction management and inspection services for various types of MDOT and locality transportation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Construction management
- Performing field inspection of Contractor's operations to see that they comply with contract documents
- Preparing daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by Contractor
- Performing materials testing and maintaining testing logs
- Reviewing periodic pay estimates for accuracy with Contractor
- Preparing sketches and assembling data for Engineer's use in making changes to the project
- Keeping diaries and making reports on work accomplished and/or noted deficiencies
- Performing sophisticated, complicated mathematical calculations
- Reviewing Contractor schedules including initial CPM and monthly updates
- Communicating effectively with the Engineer, Owner and Owner's operational and field staff on a regular basis, keeping them apprised of field conditions and maintaining active communications and excellent rapport with the Owner and the entire project team throughout the construction process
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate.
- Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to read/interpret plans and specifications
- Writing and drawing skills are necessary to complete inspection reports and documentation
- Basic computer skills (Word & Excel) are desirable
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment

The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
