Environmental Intern

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP Richmond, VA (Onsite) Intern

We are currently seeking Interns to work with the Environmental team in our Richmond, VA office.

Responsibilities will include providing assistance with the following tasks: 

  • State and federal environmental documentation (including NEPA preparation)
  • Socioeconomic analysis (including environmental justice)
  • Wetland delineations
  • Stream assessments
  • Threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations and surveys 
  • Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting 
  • Periodic travel (including overnight) may be required when assisting with field work, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or similar field (Bachelor of Science preferred).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time accordingly.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn more while working on these challenges.
  • Willingness to work in challenging outdoor environments, including high temperatures and steep terrain.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS software preferred.
